Hua Hin Golf Courses
Black Mountain Golf Club
Black Mountain is the 7th and newest golf course in Hua Hin and was transformed from lush jungle and pineapple plantations. The course is set in a valley, just next to the "Black Mountain’s", which are so named because of the large black rocks set into the mountains, providing a nice backdrop to many of the holes.
The golf course looks as natural as possible and maintains many of the original features of the site. The most important of these are the natural creeks that run throughout the course and the rocks that have been used as design features on many of the holes. Many of the original trees have been kept and many new trees have been planted to frame the holes.
Black Mountain is a test for the top golfers, but also very playable for the average golfer. All the holes provide the golfer with a safe route but for the more adventurous player there is a higher risk option with a potential greater reward. For example, the par 5, 6th peninsula green can be reached in 2 shots by aggressive long hitters, while casual golfers have a regulation path to the green almost requiring a 360 degree series of 3 shots. I suspect than many birdies can be had, if not an eagle now and then. Immediately following, the 7th hole, a par 4, provides two realistic ways to play the hole. Those who can carry their drives 230 yards or more over water will be rewarded with an easy chip shot to the green. Others, will need to 2 shots to skirt around the water, first left and then back right, making it almost impossible to par. Again, this hole is a good example of the risk –reward situation on each of the holes at Black Mountain.
Black Mountain offers generous fairways for the shorter hitters that become narrower for the longer tee shots. The greens are large with many pin positions, with different degrees of difficulty, and the course is well protected by many white sand sculptured bunkers.
Seashore Paspalum grass was used for the tees, fairways and rough. This grass gives a wonderful playing surface and a beautiful emerald green color. Tifeagle bermuda grass was used for the greens and this expensive hybrid grass is the same turf as is used on the greens at other championship courses in the Thailand like Thai Country Club.
The view from the clubhouse is stunning, and gives a panoramic view of the whole golf course. The clubhouse facilities on offer include fine dining in the restaurant, a well stocked golf shop and luxurious locker rooms.
Black Mountain is one of Hua Hin’s best golf courses and is a joy to play.
The aim of the designer was to create a golf course that looks as natural as possible and maintains many of the features of the site. The most important features are the natural creeks that run throughout the course and the natural rocks that have been used as design features on many of the holes. As many of the original trees as possible have been kept and many new trees have been planted to frame the holes. Very important in the design concept, was to create a course that could be a test for the top golfers in the world but also very playable and enjoyable to the average golfer. All the holes provide the golfer with a safe route but for the more adventurous player there is a higher risk option with a potential greater reward. The design offers generous fairways for the shorter hitter but becoming narrower for the longer hitter. The greens are large with many pin positions, with different degrees of difficulty, and the course is well protected by beautifully sculptured bunkers. Much thought went into the choice of grass, and it was decided to use seashore paspalum for the tees, fairways and rough. This grass gives a wonderful playing surface and a beautiful emerald green colour. It was decided to use tifeagle bermuda grass on the greens. This hybrid bermuda grass is now recognized as the best putting surface in tropical areas.
No expense has been spared to make the golf course as good as possible and the same is true of the clubhouse. The view from the clubhouse is truly stunning, and gives a panoramic view of the whole course. The clubhouse facilities on offer include fine dining in the restaurant, a well stocked golf shop and luxurious locker rooms. Black Mountain intends to offer service and dining to a standard that is normally only found in the finest hotels.
Imperial Lake View Golf Club
The Imperial Lake View Hotel & Golf Club offers the first 36 hole Golf course in Hua Hin and is a good example of a top quality Hua Hin golf course. The golf course is a favorite with both residents and visitors to the area and is situated a bit inland amongst small farms & pineapple plantations on a large parkland parcel. For many golfers this is the most beautiful course in this region.
The Imperial Lake View original 18 hole championship course is well maintained and lives up to it’s name with small streams in abundance, and a large lake dividing the course in two. This, together with mature trees, blind shots to some greens, undulating fairways and several doglegs, tests the skills of the low handicapper. The long par 3, 14th hole is particularly tricky and features a tee box on a small island and the green at another island 210 yards away - all surrounded by water. There are a number of easy par holes on offer making the course a balanced test of golf also for higher handicappers
The desert course is uniquely designed to be different in so many ways that each shot must be carefully planned. Mixing these nine holes with those from the main course provides most with an extremely fulfilling round of golf. Lake View has just opened the Links course in late 2006, adding a further nine holes to the existing three courses. Each hole is unique and combined with the Desert course maybe the top course in the Hua Hin and Cha Am areas.
A luxury club house at Lake View offers pleasant ambience and good cuisine. Clean and spacious changing facilities, a grass driving range and short game practice areas are available for all golfers. The club house also features a pool with golf course view and spa. An on site 4-star 75 room hotel is a popular option for golf groups from Asia or local expatriates who prefer to play and stay at a full featured golf resort. Hotel residents can also enjoy other sports such as tennis, squash, and badminton in addition to golf.
Situated only 200 kilometers from Bangkok, The Imperial Lake View Hotel & Golf Club is a short five minute drive via Petchkasem Road from the Cha-am beach intersection. If traveling from Hua - Hin, it is located merely 10 minutes from the town center. Covering an area of over 3000 Rai, The Imperial Lake View Hotel & Golf Club is dedicated to delivering ultimate relaxation and pleasure to our guests with our own special blend of hospitality that can be readily enjoyed by the entire family.
Majestic Creek Country Club
The Majestic Creek Country Club is a challenging course that was once rated by a German golf magazine as a 5-star international golf course. While I would not go that far, the golf course nevertheless is one of the better ones in Hua Hin, read on!
Designed by Dr. Sukkitti Klangvisai, the same Thai golf course designer as who is responsible for Phuket’s Loch Palm and Bangkok’s Ratchakram golf clubs, Majestic Creek features rolling hilly terrain with tricky greens.
A 7,123 yard layout that provides a range of different, well designed challenges to the player. Low handicappers will especially appreciate the course design which features many challenging tee shots. There are significant carries over lakes and a maze of streams wind around the course. Almost all the holes have water hazards (small lakes or creeks) as well as several bunkers. For a good score, precise shots and good nerves are required. One of the holes is an astonishing 770 yards long, the longest par 5 in Thailand. Try hitting that one in two!
Majestic Creek Country Club is a favourite among locals and expatriates living in Hua Hin as the course conditions are probably the most consistent year round as compared to all other Hua Hin golf courses.
Being set in the mountains just west of Hua Hin, Majestic Creek has nice surrounding scenery. Valleys in the nearby mountains supply water to the maze of streams winding around the course, and the builders have been careful to preserve them as natural hazards. which makes for some tricky shots over water.
The Bermuda grass greens tend to be on the slow side. However, all the greens slope one way or another which makes for difficult side hill lies if one is not careful with their approach shots. The palm tree lined fairways are superb and an absolute pleasure to walk and play on.
The clubhouse at Majestic Creek offers a full range of rental equipment, luxurious locker rooms, a pro shop, and nice outdoor golfer’s café. Other facilities include two putting greens, a chipping area and a grass driving range. The Majestic Beach Resort is associated with the golf course and operates a free shuttle service for golfers between the course and the hotel.
A local, Dr. Sukitti Klangvisai, designed this 18 hole course in over 600 acres of land. The Majestic Creek golf course is also one of the country's leading golf centers with the inclusion of artful landscape design with palms and Casurina trees. A large staff of green keepers ensures that the fairways and greens are always maintained in absolutely perfect condition. Valleys in nearby mountains supply water to the maze of streams that wind around the course with just enough hazards to attract the discerning golfers who will discover the Majestic Creek a pleasure to play. The journey takes 30 minutes and is very interesting as the inland road passes through rural Thailand with small farms of pineapples, bananas, mangoes and sugarcane towards the mountains of Kaeng Krachan National Park.
Majestic Creek is one of the newest courses to open in the Hua Hin area, and the journey towards the course offers rural views of Thai life. Small farms producing sugar cane, pineapple, bananas & mangos line the route out to the course.
Majestic offers superb golf holes in an exciting layout. The opening hole has a wealth of potential problems, and decisions have to be made. An easy par four for those of us who want to take the conventional route, or if you are the adventurous golfer, then trying to cut the dog-leg corners will really test your skill. The hazards of the 1st hole will never be far away, and precedes a succession of exciting & equally demanding holes.
Mountain side location, Majestic offers natural hazards as well as the local designers own input, and will offer a round full of excitement & challenge to any golfer.
The club house offers all the facilities that one could wish for, and a personal escort is even at hand to take you to the first hole for tee off.

Milford Golf Club
The course has a feel of a "links" due to its seaside location and is surrounded on three sides by forested hills. The natural lie of the land makes for a large angle of elevation on most of the holes, which adds to the interest and challenge of the course.
The front nine has a tight layout and puts a premium on accurate tee shots and while back nine is more open, but making par is still tricky. The greens are very fast and feature some deceptively difficult slopes which add to challenge in making par. Be careful if you are on the wrong side of the hole, two putting is almost impossible.
Palm Hills Golf Resort & Country Club
Palm Hills Golf Resort & Country Club is located just North of Hua Hin, near the airport, on the lower foot hills just west of town. It was the first of the new Hua Hin golf courses to open in 1992 and played host to the inaugural Thailand World Pro Am tournament in 1993.
The golf course is laid out on a long strip of undulating terrain which gives the course a Scottish "links" feel, which is different from all the other courses in the area. The Max Wexler layout goes from east to west, with lakes at each end, separated by the clubhouse and an interesting rocky outcrop extending from the mountain range.
The Palm Hills course is lined with hundreds of palm trees, and has plenty of hillside lies, thus the name Palm Hills. Thousands of brightly colored bougainvilleas add to the natural beauty and the back nine playing on top of the mountains provides stunning views of the Gulf of Thailand and Hua Hin.
The fairways, Bermuda Tifway 419, are generous and wide, making this course popular with golfers of all abilities. However, strategically placed bunkers and water hazards, with fast Tiff Eagle greens ensure that good scores are by no means easy to achieve. In fact, the greens can be some of the fastest in the area, especially when putting with the grain.
The 10th through to the 14th holes are the best holes on the golf course and require accurate good shot placement. The signature hole is the 11th, a long par three up hill into the sea breeze and requires at least a club more than normal to reach in regulation.
The last couple of years have seen a steady improvement in the golf course conditions and Palm Hills Golf Club is now one of the better maintained courses in Hua Hin. There is an abundance of beautiful landscaping throughout the golf course and at certain times of the year the course is enveloped in the exotic fragrance of the blooms from the frangipani tree lined fairways.
In addition to the golf course, there is a complete sports resort, with two clubhouses. One caters to the enormous Sports Club which has a large swimming pool and several outdoor tennis courts. Inside are the badminton, squash, ping pong, and snooker facilities. This makes this an ideal family resort where an entire day can be occupied to its fullest. The second club house is dedicated to golfers and sports 2 restaurants, albeit of only average quality.
While spectacular mountains, lakes and sea horizontal vistas are compliment the exceptional appeal at Palm Hills Golf Resort & Country Club, a rare combination of environmental sensitivity master-planning for our golf courses’ layout is well-designed to challenge golfers of all levels. Our 18-hole championship courses is well-designed by the world acclaimed golf architect Max Wexler to challenge golfers of all levels. Golfing at Palm Hills gives a unique golf experience with magnificent undulating rolling fairways that go up and down hills, lush greens and strategically placed hazards, yet enclaves upscale amenities including lavish clubhouses, fine and casual dining Chomtalay restaurant, state-of-the-art sports club and sophisticated Pro shop.
Palm Hills is blessed with a natural setting that is ideal for golf courses situated in the Hua Hin’s prime location, across from the international airport and 8 minutes away from the downtown. Our estate is exquisite impeccably maintained by our professional management team and well-trained staffs because we care for your valuable time spending with us.
Enjoy ultimate golfing experience all year round.

Royal Hua Hin Golf Club
Royal Hua Hin is the oldest 18-hole international standard course in Thailand and is only 5 minutes from downtown Hua Hin. The course was commissioned in 1924 to accommodate the interests of the British railway workers and Thai aristocracy living in the area. Bering of traditional older British golf course design, the course is constructed on natural terrain and set between some spectacular rocky hills. Excellent views of the Gulf of Thailand and the city center are possible from several of the holes.
A major renovation in the 1980’s brought this course up to international standards, despite its age. Mature tree lined fairways are now abundant making for many shaded lies. The Par 3 18th is particularly impressive with a Thai temple in the back drop of the already challenging hole.
Actual playing conditions vary through the year from being very muddy in the wetter months to hard fairways when the course is at its peak in the winter months. Greens are normally kept in good condition year round.
Snack kiosks are on site every 3 holes, affording very comfortable rounds for all golfers. A remodeled club house makes for a nice 19th hole and to reflect on the golfers who have passed through the doors during the 80 years that Royal Hua Hin has been around. If noting else for historic value and convenience of location, Royal Hua Hin is a course that should be played at least once by every golf traveler to Hua Hin, if only to say you played where the Thai royalty of yester year used to enjoy this aristocratic sport.
In the 2nd decade of the 20th century a Scottish railway engineer by the name of O.A.Robins designed Thailand’s 1st golf course. Opened in 1924 and less than one kilometer from the center of town, the Royal Hua Hin Golf Course offers tempting Tee shots for the adventurous & natural jungle surroundings, as well as views over the gulf of Thailand, making this course a must for any golfer staying in or near Hua Hin.
Tree lined fairways, shaded lies & regular watering holes offering various snacks. What more could a golfer ask for to provide the perfect round.

Springfield Village Golf and Spa
The Jack Nicklaus designed Springfield Golf Course is rated as the best course around Hua Hin and is probably kept in the best condition day in day out throughout the year, particularly the greens which can be fast, but always true.
The course at Springfield has been designed to meet the high demands of a recognized championship golf course, and yet it remains an enjoyable challenge for golfers of all standards. Each hole has a minimum of five tees to play from, but only the brave, and those regularly rub shoulders with the world’s best will venture from the black tee. Water hazards regularly come into play and each hole presents it own individual challenge and character requiring finesse or unrestraint. Accuracy is required at all times as the fairways are flanked by a series of hillocks and covered by a forest of small trees.
Nicklaus designs love to catch the player out who hits a poor weak fade, better known as a slice and the back nine when tiredness begins to creep into your game can be punishing with either a huge waste bunker and water or just water on your right hand side and close to the fairway to tighten you up. If you are on top of your game this course will reward you, it is not especially long.
Starting with a par 4 the first hole is a gentle 367 yards from the white tee, and on appearance looks to be quite simple. Hopes can quickly fade, as the well protected green can prove difficult & requires accuracy. The last hole has become the feature hole, a par 5 with an Island green, reachable by the longer hitter and those with an ego who will, having hit a good drive over the trees of the dogleg left, just have to have a go!
Springfield offers other first class facilities apart from the course. The club house was constructed in an elevated position that will leave you with a lasting impression. The interior is beautifully finished in polished marble & granite, and portrays a feeling of opulence associated with grand palaces.
Changing rooms quite excellent, as are the caddies who are also well trained which adds to the enjoyment of playing at Springfield.
Springfield opened an additional 9 holes for play in 2005, and although it needed another season to fully mature, it is now is considered the best 9 holes in Hua Hin as of the 2007 season.
Beautifully maintained, the Springfield Royal Country Club presents the golfer with a wonderful, 18 beautifully designed, landscaped holes - each challenges your senses of aesthetics as well as your golfing skills.
It is a true Jack Nicklaus masterpiece. A championship course with five sets of tees to play from, the course offers varying degrees of difficulty that accentuate the dramatic lush landscape. Be prepared for some long carries if you are brave enough to p0lay from the back tees. It is one of the best courses you will ever play!
A masterpiece in itself designed by no other than Jack Nicklaus, the Springfield Royal Country Club is maintained
as a world-class golf course. The Club has become a favourite
of golf enthusiasts, both amateurs and professionals.
Playing and learning can always be fun when your needs
are entrusted to the best golf instructors from around the
world.
