Chonburi Golf Courses

Bangpra International Golf Club

Bangpra was originally built in 1958, one of the first golf course in the Pattaya area. Then in 1988, the course and facilities were completely updated as a joint venture between the Tourism Authority of Thailand and Japan Golf Professional Incorporated. This was the first project as a purposely built golf facility to promote golf tourism in Thailand and today remains one of the best kept mature courses in the Pattaya area.
Bangpra is laid out over undulating land in a gently sloping valley surrounded by densely wooded forests. There are lots of tropical flora and bougainvillea bushes of all colors on every hole, making Bangpra one of Pattaya’s prettiest golf courses
The fairways are well kept and all the greens roll fast and true making putting particularly pleasurable, which in addition to two holes with island greens are the highlights of this golf course.
A luxurious modern clubhouse comes lavishly furnished with locker rooms featuring Japanese style baths. The club house restaurant specializes in Japanese cuisine which makes after golf dining particularly well suited to those who prefer this type of food.

The mature course at Bangpra is a nice change from the newer and more heavily promoted Pattaya golf courses and is a good choice for Pattaya bound golfers who prefer well established golf courses over modern man made links.
Bangpra International Golf Club is set amongst Sri Racha's jungle covered hills. It is only 80 minutes from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok, but sure makes the golfer really feel at one with nature. With natural hazards such as trees, ponds and lakes flanking many of the fast greens the course offers spectacular, yet often difficult holes in a truly environmental friendly setting.

Travelling from Bangkok by car to us takes only around 1 hour and 20 minutes; from Pattaya Beach only 40 minutes. Golf tours can be a one day trip for time limited golfers.

Although originally opened in 1958, this course had its first nine completely redesigned in 1987 to incorporate more water hazards. The back nine may now lack the front's fine array of water hazards, but makes more than up for it with its challenging dog-leg holes that meander up and down the hill.
A large area of around 7,209 Yard (B.T.) with 10 divisible design pools, full of pepper flowers, relieves tension from the game.

We also provide 39 sets of Golf Clubs and 112 pairs of shoes for rent. You do not need to worry carrying things with you on your trip.

The Bangpra Resort Hotel is nearby, offering luxurious and lush accommodation. 95 classical European style rooms** are available for you to rest after the game. We also have Japanese staff to take care of you

Burapha Golf Club

Burapha Golf Club, previously a member’s only course, has hosted to several Thai amateur tournaments, Burapha Golf Club is styled like a golf club in the USA. The two 18-Hole championship golf courses have been planned by Gary Panks and David Graham, both from Phoenix, Arizona. It is conveniently located near the famous Laem Chabang International County Club and makes a good second choice for those on a Pattaya golf holiday.

The 2 golf courses at Burapha have been designed to take full advantage of the beauty of the land and its natural features - lakes, hills, mature mangoes, coco palms and tropical vegetation, all enhanced by skillful landscaping
Burapha Golf Club’s 36 holes are laid out on hilly terrain. The East Course features wide fairways and is perfect for the up & coming golfer. The West Course is a challenge for the more advanced golfer. The golf courses are both well maintained and the holes are well placed over the hilly terrain.

A pleasant restaurant serving a comprehensive range of international entrees and a wide range of sporting facilities, like swimming pools, tennis courts, and exercise equipment are all available in the nice, but slightly aging, club house.
Burapha is usually less crowded than some of the other Pattaya area courses. However, good course management and close attention to details such as proper starting times, 4 persons maximum to a flight, and well maintained greens make Burapha a good component of any Pattaya golf vacation.

The designers have produced two attractive courses featuring many lakes and trees. 36 holes layout on hilly terrain. Excellent layout where each hole presents the golfer with many shot making choices. With wide fairways, both courses present a challenging test for all golfers.

Crystal Bay Golf Club

The three 9-hole sections were designed by Thai Takenaka and opened in 1988.
Crystal Bay has been described as a Hawaiian links style of course with its swinging palms and lush fairways. This course shares all the wonderful features that you will find on eastern Thailand courses; good tees, lush fairways and fair greens.

Testing par 3’s are a feature of the course. Water is also used for the beauty of the course, not always just as a hazard. This course will offer more birdie opportunities than others, and is a good chance to play to your handicap or better.
A great meal of Thai or International cuisine in the newly redecorated clubhouse will complete a great day out.
The ten-year-old, 27-hole Crystal Bay Resort Golf Club lies approximately 80 minutes drive from Bangkok. Although the design is somewhat uninspiring, the course has recently been improved by the addition of a lot of palm trees, thus giving it the appearance of a Hawaiian links. Water fringes the course on all sides and the No. 3 dog leg and No. 8 island hole are particularly interesting and enjoyable. The clubhouse facilities are excellent.

Eastern Star Country Club & Resort

The links-style course at Eastern Star, located near the Gulf of Thailand, is one of only five courses designed and built by Robert Trent Jones Jr. in all Thailand. The golf course is built on 530 acres of land, is the site of an old coconut plantation, and meanders through lovely residential areas of Eastern Star Country Club & Resort.

The course features wide fairways and hundreds of coconut palm trees and has become a popular local favorite. The gently undulating fairways and greens feature 65 bunkers, 11 lakes and more than 2,200 coconut palm trees. The golf resort is conveniently situated just 2 kilometers from the sea with nice beaches and always a cooling breeze. Like a true links course, it is only slightly above sea level in altitude.

Eastern Star has been the venue for local and regional golf tournaments. It offers plenty of challenge for the experienced golfer, but also offers enjoyment for beginners. It is a "thinking man’s course" that can be successfully navigated with a little strategy and well-positioned shots. Tall mature coconut trees and some mango trees define the holes, enhanced by areas rich in flowers. There are numerous dog legs and a lot of water along its 18 fairways.

The golf course can play quite long, particularly from the championship blue tees. The signature hole is the picturesque par 3 thirteenth, which lulls players into admiring the scenery, rather than paying attention to their task of playing over water to a heavily bunkered green. With well positioned shots this is surely a course to suit beginner and experienced golfers alike.

Hole 13, a par 3 is also another hole of note. An accurate tee shot over water is required so as to stay out of the deep bunker or the lake on the right of the green. The key is play to the center of the green or slightly to the left. Too far left however, and you are in sand or deep rough. Over the green gives you a difficult down-hill putt. If the hole appeared intimidating from the tee, look back from the green for an entirely different perspective.

There is a good practice area and driving range in addition to a luxurious clubhouse providing a wide range of facilities such as an Olympic sized beach pool, tennis courts and well provisioned locker rooms.

This is a local favorite and plays host to several area competitions. The course can play quite long, particularly from the championship blue tees, where the distance is more than 7,100 yards. The signature hole is the fiendishly picturesque par 3 fourth, which lulls players into admiring the scenery, rather than paying attention to their task of playing over water to a heavily bunkered green.

Emerald Golf Club

The Emerald Golf Club since opening under new management in 2006 has done a great job to improve course and playing conditions to international standards. Originally named Ban Chang and then Rayong Century Golf Club the course is set into the mountains just outside Rayong and near to Eastern Star.

The former Century Golf Club is nestled in amongst meandering hillsides and is laid out in a jungle setting. This Pattaya area golf course has some of the most beautifully designed holes on the Eastern Seaboard of Thailand. The 18-hole course is carved through a virgin forest of full-grown trees that make for excellent playing under mature conditions. There are only a few water hazards, but continued undulated and narrow fairways and well placed bunkers as well as some difficult Par 3’s combine to make the Emerald Golf Club a fair test of golfers of all abilities. Driving accuracy, as opposed to distance is the key to scoring well on the Emerald Golf course
Á small but charming clubhouse with open-air restaurant provides nice ambience after the game. While not as famous as some of the other Pattaya golf courses, the excellent conditions along with beautiful scenery make the Emerald Golf Club a good addition to any Pattaya golf package.

Eastern Star Golf Course was designed and built in 1991 by Robert Tent Jones. Jr., one of there foremost designers of championship golf courses in the world

The eighteen holes are beautifully carved out of a coconut palm plantation. and meander through the lovely residential areas of Eastern Star Country Club & Resort

The course is a Par 72 on 7,134 yards over 520 acres. The gently undulating fairways and greens feature 65 bunkers, 11 lakes and more than 2,200 coconut palm trees. The Resort is conveniently situated just 2 kms. from the sea with nice beaches and always a cooling breeze.

The luxurious clubhouse features a spacious and elegant restaurant serving a wide range of Thai and Western cuisine. The comfortable lounge bar area welcomes you off the course for a cool relaxing drink. Other Clubhouse amenities include a will-stocked Pro-Shop, Locker Rooms and Sauna.

Greenwood Golf & Resort (Noble Place)

The Greenwood Golf and Resort (formerly Noble Place) makes heavy use of flowing fauna and extensive landscaping. Located among the tree lined hills of Chonburi the course and backdrop are very scenic.

Designed by the ’old master’ Peter Thomson, 5 times British Open champion, and Michael Wolverine, the ex-Noble Place is a thinking man’s, British style, course with many unique features.

Dotted with characteristic pot bunkers and areas of ’native’ lemon grass which require particular skills to escape from first time, there is also many strategically placed sand traps, but not a lot of water hazards. The 3 nine holes present a challenging layout requiring ingenuity, careful club selection and precision driving. Lots of fairway undulations gives a links feel to this hilly parkland setting. Each shot must be carefully anticipated as numerous pot bunkers await any errant shots.

The full service clubhouse overlooks courses A and B. After your round, you can enjoy have a cold beer on the large balcony and watch the sun set over the rolling Chonburi hills. If the weather is a little cloudy, you can feel like you are on a links course in Scotland or England.

In December 2006, the former Noble Place Golf Resort and Country Club was officially changed to Greenwood Golf and Resort. The owners have been upgrading the facilities and the course now sports new white sand bunkers and a revamped clubhouse with new locker rooms. Greenwood is still rough around the edges, but constantly improving quality means a good future for this well designed and favorite course among Pattaya locals.Greenwood Golf & Resort is in Ban-Bung district, Chonburi province, the eastern part of Thailand and located only 65 kilometers from Suwannapum International Airport and only 45 minutes away from Pattaya, one of Thailand's biggest tourist destinations.

Khao Kheow Country Club

The Khao Kheow 27-hole golf course is located in the heart of the Pattaya “golf strip” between Bangkok and Pattaya. Like so many of the Eastern Seaboard’s courses the Khao Kheow Country Club is set in a valley between 2 hills and strong sea breezes are prevalent most afternoons. The course plays quite long and the elevation changes between holes is a welcome differentiating point compared to the other flatter courses in the surrounding area.

In typical Pete Dye design fashion, careful shot making is required to overcome not only the windy conditions but also to take into account the numerous large ponds, bunkers and hills that surround the well manicured fairways. Greens are heavily undulating which makes precise putting a key to scoring well.

The course really has something for everyone. In particular, the signature par-three seventeen, which plays to an island green is a challenge for both amateurs and professionals. The first 18 have been designed as a championship course, while the final 9 holes are easier, more like a resort course. Playing all 27 holes is a good option for those who would like to enjoy the variety of holes, elevations, and settings.
Those who play all 27 holes can look forward to relaxing at the well appointed clubhouse afterward their rounds. The restaurant is nothing special, but the normal Thai golfer’s favorites like minced pork with basil, fried rice, and a wide selection of noodle soups are all good choices.

Overall Khao Kheow is a well balanced Pattaya golf course that ranks in the top third of all areas courses, therefore making it a good choice for inclusion in any Pattaya golf package. Carts are optional, which also helps to keep costs lower than normal and affords all golfers a choice of walking or riding.

Unique Design and Natural Elegance,. Khao Kheow Country Club, 27-hole championship courses which offer challenges for golf enthusiasts of every level as well as top professionals. And, while offering exciting golf. these courses also provide the most spectacular and serene mountain vistas and climate.

Laem Chabang International Country Club

The best course in Pattaya, and one of the best 5 in all Thailand, Laem Chabang is a world championship golf course. Being designed by famed golfer Jack Nicklaus, it is made up of 27 holes on 700 acres and features 3 types of terrain which characterize each of the 9 holes, namely: Mountain, Lake and Valley.

The Lakes and Valley courses meander along pristine natural waterways while the Mountain nine provides commanding views of the surrounding area and is a the most challenging of the threee nine’s.

Laem Chanabng is kept in excellent playing conditions throughout the year and upgrading is being carried out on a continuous basis.
This top course is a must play for anyone in the Pattaya area and should be included in all packages. Widely considered as the best course in Pattaya, this 27-hole layout is as fun as it is challenging. The course has three distinct nines, the Lakes, Mountain and Valley Courses, each offering their own unique challenge. The Lakes and Valley courses meander along pristine natural waterways while the Mountain nine provides commanding views of the surrounding area and is a stern test of golf. If at all possible, play all 27 holes, especially since carts are mandatory. The clubhouse has commanding views overlooking the Lakes and Valley Course and the staff are used to catering to tourists. Jack Nicklaus would be proud of the fact the owners have kept this course in good shape and continue to make small improvements on a consistent basis.

Why You Should Play Laem Chabang International Country Club
This is Pattaya's best track and one of Thailand's top five designs. Try to include the Mountain course and if possible it's worth playing all 27 holes.

Mountain Shadow Golf Club

Mountain Shadow Golf Club, formerly the Natural Park Hill Golf Club and part of the Panya group, was re-opened 2004 after a complete renovation, including the club house. Located halfway between Bangkok and Pattaya, the Ronald Fream designed Mountain Shadow is a very pretty course crafted out of a former mango plantation with beautiful flowers and trees providing a backdrop to every green.
Fairways and greens are kept in excellent condition. Utilizing water hazards, dog-legs and four island greens to good effect, the relatively short 18-hole course is well suited for golfers of all levels.

Greens are fast and generally have large undulations making reading the correct line especially important. The narrow palm tree lined fairways make it a challenge to recover from errant tee shots. Adding to the difficulty is also the relative long distance between the tees and the fairways. Shorter tee shots often wind up in the difficult to hit out of semi rough.

Both the 6th and 14th holes are especially challenging. The two dogleg par 5’s have greens tucked behind huge water hazards. Careful approach shots are required to avoid a watery penalty.

The clubhouse has a nice restaurant serving a wide variety of dishes at reasonable prices and a well stocked pro shop in the lobby.

Pattana Golf Resort and Sports Club

Pattana Golf Resort & Sport Club is a 27 hole layout consisting if three 9 hole courses exotically named Andreae, Brookei, and Calypso. At Pattana golfers can enjoy the feeling of being close to nature in this lush and well maintained course. The golf course is built on over 1,000 acres of land. Palm trees, large water hazards, undulating fairways and lightening fast Tifdwarf greens add to make a challenging layout, particularly well suited for low handicappers and scratch golfers. Combine this to the relatively windy conditions, especially when the afternoon trade winds off the Gulf of Thailand roll in and you have what is probably the second best golf course, just behind Laem Chabang, in the Pattaya area.

Pattana also has some of the best facilities in Pattaya featuring several restaurants, excellent practice areas and a huge sports complex. The resort also has a variety of accommodations available including a 117 room hotel, a 70 room serviced apartment; and 35 private villas.
Golf carts are compulsory at Pattana, making this riding course more expensive than some of the other nearby alternatives. Also Pattana caters to large local Thai and Asian groups which makes tee times, especially on weekends at a premium and can be a concern for some golf visitors.

PATTANA Golf & Sports Resort the golfers can enjoy the feeling of being close to nature in this lush and exotic course designed by GUSSAN , a Thai professional golf designer. Pattaya Country Club

Pattaya Country Club is spread out on over 2,000 rai of park like land amidst gentle rolling hills and is one of the closest courses to Pattaya. The golf course is relatively easy and good for golfers of all abilities.

Several the holes feature dual fairways making for more challenging as well as for safer routes to the greens. The greens are usually well guarded by bunkers and many are quite undulating.

Unlike many other Pattaya area courses, water comes into play on only one hole, the 17th par 4, at Pattaya Country Club. On the other hand, with the vast land area many of the holes are located far away from one another. This not only makes for long walks from greens to the next tees and but also gives rise to the OB areas found on many of the holes.

The finishing 3 holes, locally named “amen corner” are the most difficult on the course and make for some dramatic finishes or surprise scores those counting too early on a good a round.

The smaller than usual clubhoust’s hard to believe that just 120 Km. from bangkok along Highway No.331 you can discover such splendour. Here, at the heart of the Eastern Seaboard, after such a short, comfortable drive, Pattaya Country Club & Resort offers you a natural heaven where you can enjoy all the best life that you can prove in a close touch.

Phoenix Golf & Country Club

Phoenix Golf & Country Club, a Dennis Griffiths design, is set on wooded, rolling terrain. This Pattaya golf course comprises three nines - Ocean, Lake and Mountain, and has magnificent views of the surrounding mountains and the Gulf of Thailand. Large mango, eucalyptus trees and flowering shrubs add color and give a natural feel to the layout.

Phoenix demands cautious shots on the fairways, but the greens are relatively easy with few undulations. Compared to most other Pattaya golf courses, there is not much water, except on the Lake nine. Hole 17 is a very though par four dogleg around the lake and requires accurate shot making to achieve par.

The finishing hole on the Ocean course is also noteworthy. The tee box for this par 5 sits at the highest point on the course and affords a commanding view of Jomtien Beach and Pattaya city. The tee shot is straight down a sloping fairway followed by a 2nd shot aimed toward the sea. Large sand bunkers lining along both sides of the fairway come into play on the 3rd shot into the green. The bunker in the front left of the green should be avoided for it is difficult to get up and down for par from there. The centre of the green is preferred for an easy par, or even birdie!

A massive clubhouse dominates the landscape with a large centre reception and pro shop. Locker room facilities are luxurious and the restaurant serving both Thai and European food is quite good and well priced.

Phoenix Golf Club’s easy access to Pattaya plus above average maintenance and playing conditions make this course well worth including in any Pattaya golf package.

Beautifully landscaped with eucalyptus, bamboo and bushes, the Phoenix Golf and Country Club utilizes wooded, rolling terrain on its three nines--Ocean, Lake and Mountain. Although fairways are narrow, the greens are most spacious and the middle nine is one of the most playable in the kingdom due to its large amount of water hazards. Hole 17--a very tough par-four--dog-legs around the lake and has left some of Asia’s most experienced golfers in serious trouble. Excellent clubhouse utilities and a sports complex make this one of the best courses on the Eastern Seaboard.

Rayong Green Valley Country Club

Set among rolling hills near the gulf of Thailand, Rayong Green Valley is one of the most picturesque and popular golf courses in Pattaya.
Green Valley features an inspired design that makes full use of the natural layout to create an enjoyable and testing round of golf for players at every level.

Rayong Green Valley is lodged on the side of a hill and thus takes its features from the large rocky outcrops, boulders and native fauna that are featured in the local terrain. Bunkers have been used very intelligently, inviting a good golfer to go for the drive over them while the (experienced) lesser player has plenty of room to lay up. To walk the undulating fairways in this glorious peaceful setting is to enjoy golf at its best. The greens vary from large to small, and this is not a course to lose your concentration on

The Rayong Green Valley complex also incorporates a large fine clubhouse with 3 different restaurants (International/Thai/ Korean/ Japanese), polo club and equestrian track. Houses and a condominium overlook the course.Rayong Green Valley Country Club

This Peter Thomson course features an inspired design that makes full use of the natural layout to create an enjoyable and testing round of golf for players at every level. Nice clubhouse with 3 different restaurants (International/Thai/ Korean/ Japanese). Why You Should Play Rayong Green Valley Country Club Better players will enjoy a night at the hotel and 18 holes at St Andrews and Rayong Green Valley. A little tough for higher handicappers and a difficult walk, Rayong Green Valley is a great weekend or two day getaway away from the bright lights.

Siam Country Club ( Old Course )

Siam Country Club is one of the more famous Thailand golf courses, being built more than 35 years ago. Over the years the golf course has hosted several international golf tournaments. Nowadays the course is impeccably maintained, in excellent playing condition, and has been transformed into its previous glory. Read on!

Siam CC is set in the low hills just a few kilometers from Pattaya and has been wonderfully landscaped to contain more than its fair share of mature trees, shrubs and plants. Various fruit trees on the course give one the impression of being in an orchard, especially when in season. The abundant “wildlife” in the form of sculptured bushes and hedges are a feature unique to Siam Country Club.

The course has an out and back layout with many of the golf holes playing past a series of lakes, and strategically placed creeks. Long, straight driving is required to negotiate the often narrow fairways. The large trees at Siam Country Club often get in the way and will punish errant tee shots. It is not uncommon to find an otherwise good drive actually nestled under a bed of pine needles or a shaded canopy of huge trees hanging over the fairway. The greens at Siam Country Club are for the most part large, roll fast, and are excellently maintained. Many subtle breaks favor the assistance of an experienced caddie to read properly.

Making the turn up the 9th fairway, there is a large golden Buddha watching over the green. Dotted with many bunkers and water hazards, the course also boasts several dramatic holes, particularly the last four. The 15th through 18th holes taken together could arguably be the best finishing holes of any Pattaya golf course. If you’re having a good day and scoring well, take care as these 4 holes could easily bring you back to earth and ruin a good score.

After a 2 year closing, Siam Country Club re-opened in March 2007. The course having under gone a complete renovation and upgrading has been renamed to the Siam Country Club Old Course following the Scottish tradition recognizing classic golf courses. It is now one of the best courses in Pattaya, even rivaling Laem Chabang for top honors.

Siam Country Club, 15-minute from Pattaya, is found by Dr. Thaworn Phornprapha, and opened on 1 March 1971. For over 35 years, the idyllic, bucolic setting embroidered by arching trees and adorned by lush, mature landscaping has been a magnet for members and vacationers.

Occupies and area of about 800 rai (about 32 acres) located on the east side of Sukhumvit Road, opposite Pattaya Beach, Cholburi. It is suitably and conveniently located and is surrounded by picturesque landscape.

Siam Country Club  Plantation

About (Philosophies)

Siam Country Club Pattaya “PLANTATION”
Siam Country Club is the first privately owned golf course in Thailand, and opened in February 1972.  In March 2006, Siam Country Club began a total renovation project of its existing 35 year old 18-hole golf course, which is today known as Siam Country Club Pattaya Old Course.  At the same time, a construction of a new 27-hole golf course in a property 6 Km near by was launched.

In March 2007, Siam Country Club Pattaya Old Course was reopened, and was immediately courted to showcase an international caliber championship tournament, the Honda LPGA Thailand 2007 in October.  The tournament not only has proven to be a tremendous success but has also shown to the world the beauty of the golf course.

In March 2008, the new 27-hole golf course is opened with the name Siam Country Club Pattaya Plantation.  Both golf courses are designed by a well known Arizona based, Schmidt & Curley Design Inc.  The “PLANTATION” name was given in the honor of the historic Sugar Cane, Tapioca, and Pineapple plantations, and each 9-hole is named accordingly.

From the inception of the projects, the philosophies on the renovation of the Old Course and the construction of the Plantation are crystal clear.  The Old Course will remain a flush green, mature and traditional classic tree-lined golf course.  Even the interior decorations, utilizing the original structure, from the lobby to restaurant, and locker rooms are unmistakably soft, subtle, and exclusive.  The Plantation, on the other hand, must be uniquely different, modern, and refreshing from any other golf courses in the region.  An architectural “Bird Wing” clubhouse sits high on natural rolling hills clearly overlooking the golf course and a breath taken view of Pattaya Ocean.

A strong emphasis is also given in the upkeep of the golf courses to fulfill the desire of having two truly international championship golf courses.  Choosing the right strand of grass is the beginning.  “Novotek” ultradwarf Bermuda grass is chosen for the greens.  The rest of the grass areas are grassed with the “Seashore Paspalum”, a revolutionary strand typically used in tropical and subtropical climates in coastal areas.   Groundcovers such as Red Fountain grass, Love grass and Yellow Peanut grass are widely planted and blended into native grasses and trees of natural surrounding, help making the landscape impeccable beauties.

Championship quality and design golf courses, impeccably natural beauties, stylish clubhouses of modern comforts, and a second to none attitude set Siam Country Club apart from any golf courses in Thailand.

St. Andrews 2000 Golf Club

Working with a spectacular, undulating natural topography, English born golf course architect Desmond Muirhead has created one of Pattaya’s most interesting golf courses, as St Andrews was built to replicate a Scottish links course. Located in Rayong, about 40 minutes from Pattaya and 1.5 hours from Bangkok, St. Andrews is accessible for golfers staying in either city.

While aimed at players with handicaps of 18 or lower, this most challenging course in Pattaya should be a must visit for all golfing tourists in the area. The course is an extremely tough test of golf from any tee. The two par 6’s are a bit much for the golf course purist. The additional long fairway shot that must be played demands an entirely different dimension in concentration and course management.

From the tips, the “twin-sixes” (Nos. 4 and 13) measured 878 and 861 yards, respectively. Both holes will be "strategic" rather than penal, in particular, at the 4th hole par 6, with the rock out-crops acting as the backdrop and three ponds are being exploited to the maximum to ensure that a tour of the course will be not only pleasing to the eye, but also mentally soothing and will certainly leave golfer playing their shots over the water with memorable experience.

The course demands a combination of both power and accuracy, with the strategic positioning of hazards forcing the player to remain focused on each and every shot, as one mental error can be very costly. This course will test every club and trick in your bag, and leave you with lots of stories to tell your friends about a challenging round of golf that will create lasting memories. Bring lots of golf balls, a camera and expect to otherwise be beaten up by this course

St. Andrews 2000 is under the same management, sharing the same facilities as the older more established sister course, Rayong Green Valley Country Club. The club house and on site golf resort are well run, over looking both courses they make for a good 19th hole to reflect on your round. Green fees are on the high side for Pattaya and with the compulsory golf cart; this course may not fit into everyone’s budget. However, if just for the bragging rights to be the fist on the block to have played a par 6 (actually 2) it should be worth it. Additionally, for those looking for a best golf of Pattaya package, St. Andrews is a must include golf course.

St. Andrews 2000 names in honour of its venerable Scottish’s St. Andrews. St. Andrews 2000 is located in picturesque hilly countryside in the South Eastern Thai province of Rayong, just over half and hour’s drive from the famous seaside resort town of Pattaya. Designed by the flamboyant English-born and Cambridge-educated architect Desmond Muirhead, St. Andrews 2000 opens for play in you guessed it the year 2000. The sprawling par 74 course adjoins its sister layout, the older, well established par 72 layout of the Rayong Green Valley Country Club.

It’s not a typ-o-par 74 for an astounding back market length of 7777 yard, thanks to the two endlessly long par6. The two monster holes in question are the 4th and 13th, which weigh in at 855 and 857 yards respectively. Moirhead has created a visually stunning, sweeping layout that must rank among the best new courses in the land of a thousand smiles.
St. Andrews 2000, an uncompromisingly tough golf course that will test even the best of golfers to their limits.

Working with a spectacular, undulating natural topography, St. .Andrews 2000 was built to replicate the wind-swept Scottish links courses, offering an uncompromising challenge aimed at players with handicaps of 18 or lower. Opened at the dawn of the Pacific Century, this course will soon become known as one of Asia's true championship courses. Desmond Muirhead created a full 18 holes, 74 par of memorable golf, featuring elevated tees and greens, tight landing zones, split elevation fairways, huge putting surfaces and two par 6's
The Course demands a combination of both power and accuracy, with the strategic positioning of hazards forcing the player to remain focused on each and every shot, as one mental error can be very costly. This is a touch, demanding course that will test every club and trick in your bag, and leave you with lots of stories to tell your friends about a challenging round of golf that will create lasting memories.

Wangjuntr, a strange sounding and spelled name, is located in the seaside province of Rayong. The Wangjuntr Golf Club features two “twin golf course” layouts each featuring 18 fairways and 36 greens, the same arrangement as the Rose Garden Golf Club in Bangkok. Added to this trick, Wangjuntr Golf Park has two of the most challenging and stunning golf courses in Thailand. Read on!

The uniqueness of Wangjuntr is not only the two course designs, but also the pristine landscape that has been left in place. Intended to be an environmentally friendly Pattaya golf resort, the original landscape of mature rubber trees and pineapple, sugarcane and cassava plantations have been reconfigured and converted into two golf courses and a significant golf resort.

All large trees have been preserved and augmented by a well managed reforestation program. These two Thai golf courses reflect the magnificence and the harmony of championship golf courses set in the natural wilderness.

The Valley Course plays over 7100 yards including 5 par 5’s and 5 par 3’s, the longest of which plays an amazing 245 yards! The interesting par 3, 15th hole plays to a heavily sloped green and requires a perfect approach shot to avoid the pond off to the right of the green. Also a par 3, the 17th hole, is located on a cliff, and hits down to a well guarded green while offering panoramic views of the region.

The par 4’s range from a short 299 to a whopping 503 yards! The 2nd hole, has a eucalyptus tree forest surrounding the fairway. The 4th hole, has a crater like grass bunker in the middle of a double green. Probably the best hole on the golf course is the 11th, a par 5 measuring 694 yards, and is one of the longest par 5’s in Thailand. Only the two par 6’s found down the road at St. Andrews 2000 play longer. The two finishing holes at Wangjuntr Golf Park are also well designed par 5’s. Well struck drives can be rewarded with excellent 2-on opportunities, offering those golfers a few stokes behind a good chance to catch up on these holes.

The Highland Course measures over 7600 yards making it the longest golf course in Thailand. Again among the twin-greened eighteen holes, there are four par 3’s, ten par 4’s, and 4 par 5’s. The par 3’s ranges from a short 150 to 253 yards, for most golfers a driver for sure. The par 4’s play up to 493 yards, and the longest par 5 is 690 yards.

The Highland Course is even more challenging than the Valley Course. Every hole is a challenge in its own right and this course has to be seen (played once) to be believed!
Wangjuntr Golf Park, is best played as part of a Pattaya golf vacation, but also offers several on-site accommodation options including cabins, a golf lodge and a private mansion, all surrounded by greenery and a bird sanctuary. Local and international food is offered at the club house. However, there are many excellent restaurants nearby on the Gulf of Thailand. Several of these make great choices for enjoying a seafood meal with a few cold beers while watching the sunset and reminiscing about your round at the Wangjuntr Golf Park, all before heading back to start a night out in Pattaya.

Wangjuntr Golf Park takes around 1.30 hours east of Bangkok, Wangjuntr Golf Park is reputably the most challenging and stunning golf course in Thailand. The unique of WGP is, not only the pristine landscape that fits for the perfect game of golf,
but also the outstanding design that corresponds to the championship courses of European and US PGA Tours. While the first nine holes are surrounded by numerous tall rubber trees, the back nine holes are grounded by the In-Land mountain atmosphere.

Overall, WGP drawns together a variety of remarkable designs : wide, narrow, left-right doglegs, inclining and declining fairways; huge and tiny water hazards, locating in front, on the sides, and at the back of T-offs/Fairways/Greens; deep, shallow, short and long bunkers; spacious, speedy and sloping greens. The golf course itself is also an opened zoo, where animals naturally reside by their own habitats. By uniting all possibilities and accessibilities, required for a World Class golf course, Wangjuntr Golf Park is the only place that golfers will enjoy a new era of golf, and that golfers will remember a superior distinction from other golf courses around the world. Wangjuntr Golf Park arises from an inspiration that human, nature and animals would once again coexist in harmony.

Today, one of the most spectacular championship golf courses is ingeniously designed, developed and depicted into the picturesque natural world. It is here, at Wangjuntr, that human nurtures and returns animals to their innocence.
It is here, at Wangjuntr, that a fabric of life is woven and displayed on the golf course. You will discover the most serene coexistence of nature and golf, only at Wangjuntr Golf Park.
